you’d be surprised.

i don't really pay much attention to unearth, mostly because that whole metal thing pushes me away at high velocity. we just don't get each other. that being said, though, i know MAH BOY rah is a big fan of their work, and it just so happens that in a couple of weeks, they'll be dropping The March on the 12th. and to give you a taste of what's to come, they've released, "we are not anonymous" for our listening pleasure on their myspace. get ripped.

while looking into dredg's upcoming tour (november 7th @ the highline) i noticed that they were touring with telescreen and judgement day. the latter dubs themselves, "string metal" boasting the LACK of guitars in their songs (here). telescreen, however, instantly grabbed me by the wrist. this band features ex-members of codeseven and classic case, both of which i've spoken of before on this particular site. though probably not on this build. see whatcha dealin' with over here.

i'm not sure if it's a new track, but i heard a song that i hadn't heard from common before on 105.1 the other day. it's called "I Used to Love H.E.R." and it's on his myspace, but there has to be a little navigation to get there. it's on the album "thisisme" and it's the first track. i was really feeling it. i didn't get that crazy about finding forever, so to hear something fresh that i was into was a nice sensation.

new portugal. the man came out a couple of weeks ago. it was okay. i'm still trying to give it time to grow on me. but it's extremely different. not getting those instant vibes from it.

About .steve

i've become irrelevant.

  1. The new portugal. the man isn’t an instant classic like their first two albums, but for me it’s still quality music. They definitely steered even further toward that southern rock feel.

It’s more about certain songs on this one as opposed to the entire album. Tracks 2 & 3 are among my favorites.
